Gile, Carol Lee (Marriage - 1 February 1964)

Carol Lee Gile, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Gile of Merrillan, became the bride of Kenneth Loren Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Green of Humbird, in a ceremony performed February 1 in the Methodist Church in Merrillan.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Sachtjen and Rev. Burton Artz.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride approached the altar in a full length gown of nylon organza, fashioned with a portrait neckline, long, tapered sleeves that buttoned at the wrist, and a mock cummerbund set in the waist and trimmed with sequins.  From the waist cascaded a bell-shaped skirt of nylon organza over taffeta.  Her veil flowed from a large silk organza flower trimmed with rhinestones. She carried a spiral-shaped bouquet of white ‘mums and pink tea roses.

Mrs. Glen Stuve, her sister, served as matron-of-honor.  Bridesmaids were Linda Graves of Neillsville, and Darlene Anger, cousins of the bride, and Mrs. Ed Noyes, a sister of the groom.

Serving as bestman was his brother, Robert Green. Groomsmen were Orville Olsen, Fred Schulz and Glenn Stuve. Alvin Green, a brother of the groom, and Ed Noyes, a brother-in-law, served as ushers.  Jeff Green, another brother, was the ringbearer, and Cindy Austin, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

A reception for 200 guests was held in the church parlors.

Following a wedding trip into southwestern states, the newlyweds will make their home at 515½ Cascade Street, River Falls.
