Fisher, Forrest L. (12 September 1912 - 23 January 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral home in Neillsville for Forrest L. Fisher, Sr., 51, of Greenwood.  He died here last Thursday. The Rev. Dean Nelson of Black River Falls officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mr. Fisher was born September 12, 1912, in Nebraska, where he received his education and lived for several years.  He was engaged in truck driving for many years before entering World War II, in which he served in the army.  He became ill several months ago and had been in a nursing home in Greenwood for the last year.

 

On September 14, 1940, he was married to the former Prixeda Janicki in Iowa.

 

He is survived by his wife and nine children: Forrest Fisher, Jr., Neillsville; Mrs. Monroe (Patricia) Johnson of Winslow, Ill.; Gary, Lillian, Darrell, Robert, Darlene and Debbie, all at home.  Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. G. R. (Erma) Zink of Los Angeles, Cal.; his step-father, G. R. Zink; a half-sister, Mrs. George (Darlene) Welch of Darien; a brother, Leland Fisher of Beloit; three half-brothers, DeWitt, Willard and Guy R. Zink, all of Los Angeles, Cal.; a step-brother Clyde Zink of lake Geneva; and one grandchild.

 

Pallbearers were Chris Vandeberg, Charles Marek, Sr., Ervin Holub, William Ehlers, Val St. John and Frank Busch.  "Going Home" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

 

People from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Johnson and Miss Judith Fisher of Winslow, Ill,; Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Zink, Sr., of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. George H. Welch and family of Darien; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Fisher and Miss Diane Fisher of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Zink and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bidlach, Jr., of Lake Geneva; the Rev. and Mrs. Dean Nelson of Black River Falls.  Those from Greenwood attending the services were Mrs. Ervin Geisler, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Busch, George Gove, Art Kronberger, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Minsaas and son, and Mrs. Henchen.
