Rinehart, Chester D. "Chet" (1 JUN 1940 - 8 DEC 2011)

 

Chester D. "Chet" Rinehart, 71, of Chili, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 at Golden Living Center - Three Oaks in Marshfield. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield. The Rev. Dr. Kevin Buchanan will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. 

Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield is assisting the family.

Chet was born June 1, 1940 in Goodrich, the son of Chester and Jennie(Roohr) Rinehart. He graduated from Loyal High School and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. 

Chet taught math and science for 35 years, retiring from the Marshfield School District. 

He was united in marriage to Delores Messerschmidt on Sept. 3, 1960 at the Presbyterian Church in Phillips. Chet was a life-long member of the Presbyterian church.

Chet was an avid outdoors-man, including hunting and fishing. He took special pride in grooming the trails on his property and enjoyed raising catfish in his pond. He also liked gardening and growing things. Chet loved to travel and was fortunate to have gone on many wonderful trips here and abroad with friends and family.

Chet is survived by his wife of 51 years, Delores, Chili; children, Robin (Adrian) Rinehart-Balfe, Wausau, and Randy (Natalie) Rinehart, Evansville; four grandchildren, Jacob Rinehart Heil, Luke Allen Rinehart, Aubrey Lynn Rinehart and Josephine Danielle Rinehart. He is further survived by two brothers, Ray and Ted Rinehart, aunts and an uncle, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Jennie and a sister, Arlene Schirripa.

Chet will truly be missed.
