Kratochvil, Elizabeth L. (7 NOV 1959)

 

Miss Elizabeth Louise Kratochvil and Gilbert J. Voelker exchanged marriage vows before the Rev. Herbert Hoffman in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at Thorp Saturday, Nov. 7, 1959.

 

The children’s choir of the church sang for the 11 o’clock Mass said before an altar decorated with bronze and yellow chrysanthemums.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert F. Kratochvil, Wausau, and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert A. Voelker of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) are parents of the bridal couple.  Mr. Kratochvil gave his daughter in marriage.

 

A white satin and Alencon lace dress with a chapel train was chosen by the bride.  It featured a Queen Ann collar and long sleeves.  Her Alencon cap held a French illusion fingertip veil with her great-grandmother’s heirloom pearl as a drop over her forehead.  She carried a white prayer books with a corsage of yellow baby roses cascading into satin streamers.

 

Mrs. Francis Voelker of St. Cloud, Minn., was matron of honor to her sister-in-law.  Miss Elsa Mae Genz and Miss Judith Olson, Chicago, Ill. cousins of the bride, and Mrs. Fred Krembs, Madison, were bridesmaids.

 

They were dressed in blue lace sheath dresses with crystalette overskirts.  Navy blue accessories and crystalette muffs with corsages of bronze and yellow baby pompons completed their attire.

 

Margie and Mary Jo Voelker, twin nieces of the groom, were flower girls.

 

Attending the groom were his brother, Francis Voelker, St. Cloud, Minn., as best man, and the bride’s brother, Gene Kratochvil, Clarence Schmidt and Fred Krembs, as groomsmen.  Ushers were Wayne Kratochvil, the bride’s brother, and Kenneth Voelker, a cousin of the groom.

 

A dinner was served at 12 o’clock at the Legion Hall at Thorp.  A reception and an evening dance were also held there.

 

Mrs. Voelker graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and has been employed at St. Mary’s Hospital in Wausau.  Her husband is engaged in farming.  They will reside on the groom’s farm in Thorp.

 

Guests from out of town attending the wedding were A/3c Dale A.R. Kratochvil, Grand Forks, N.D. Air Force Base, A/3c Frank Jack Kratochvil, Turner Air Force Base, Albany, Ga., maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. B. Meyer, Wis. Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Voelker, St. Ann, Mrs. Ambrose Rusic, Chilton, groom’s godmother, Mrs. Pauline Wiltgen groom’s grandmother, and Miss Margaret Voelker.
