Danielson, Mary (95th Birthday - 19 September 1963)

The 95th birthday of Mrs. Mary Danielson was celebrated Thursday afternoon and evening at her home, six and one-half miles northeast of Greenwood, with 56 relatives and friends present.

All four of her children came for the occasion. They are a daughter, Mrs. Hannah Stensvold, and three sons, Peder, David and Arendt.

Relatives from away who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Carlstedt of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carlstedt of Skokie, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Iverson of Wheaton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Peder Danielson of Woodstock, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stensvold, Sandra Sommerset and Mrs. Hannah Stensvold, of Eau Claire.

Other relatives and friends attending were from Withee, Owen, Longwood, Loyal and the Greenwood area. Mrs. Danielson received many gifts and congratulatory messages.

Mrs. Danielson, who was born in Sweden September 19, 1868, came to the United States in 1892 and settled in Chicago. She was married there to David Danielson in February 1893.  He died in 1944.

They moved from Chicago to this area in 1906 and settled on the farm, where she still lives with her two sons, David and Arendt, and David’s wife, Naomi.

She is a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and of its American Lutheran Women’s Society.
