Larsen, Deon (Marriage - 14 September 1963)

Nuptial vows were exchanged September 14, in the United Church of Christ uniting in marriage Deon Larsen, daughter of Mrs. Gerelda Larsen and James Spangler, son of Mrs. Bessie Spangler; all are from Neillsville.  The Rev. W.C. Koehler performed the double ring ceremony before baskets of white gladioli, chrysanthemums and ferns.

Miss Larsen entered the church with her brother, Bradley Larsen of Marshfield, who gave her in marriage. She was attired in a floor-length gown of white sheer organza and lace. The full hoop skirt, styled with an overskirt of organza, was caught up with self material flowers. The Basque bodice with sequin-trimmed neckline was complete with long sleeves.  A finger-tip veil of English illusion was attached to a pearl and crystal crown.  She carried a bridal bouquet of yellow roses, white stephanotis and net.

Mrs. Forest Larsen of Neillsville served as matron of honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Verlan Spangler and Miss Rita Spangler. The attendants wore street length dresses of ice blue satin, styled with fitted bodices, round necklines and cap sleeves. The skirts featured unpressed pleats in back creating fullness. They wore matching shoes and jeweled crowns with face veils and carried bouquets of yellow pompons with blue-green vine.

Verlan Spangler served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Forest Larsen, brother of the bride, and William Howard.  Ushers were Charles Thompson of Minneapolis and Chester Johnson of Neillsville.

Mrs. Robert Peters sang "O Promise Me" and "O Perfect Love" accompanied by Mrs. Jack Grether at the organ.  Mrs. Bradley Larson had charge of the guest book.

A reception and supper were held in the American Legion Hall, and a dance at the Silver Dome ballroom.

On their return from a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Spangler will reside at 608 Oak Street in Neillsville.

The bride is employed as a secretary at Auto-Test, Ltd., and Mr. Spangler works at the Nelson Muffler plant in Neillsville.

Out of town friends and relatives attending the wedding were from Minneapolis, Minn.; Elgin and Rockford, Ill.; Marshfield, Abbotsford, Loyal, Greenwood, Milwaukee, Cadott, Withee, Thorp, Juneau, Oshkosh and Eau Claire.
