York Center (7 July 1911)

Mrs. E. M. Lawrence returned home Friday from Missoula, Mont. after an absence of 6 months. She was called home by the illness of her son Will who is sick with typhoid fever. The latter had intended to meet his mother in Missoula and together make a trip to the pacific coast on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dean.

The 4th of July picnic given by the Woodmen and the Royal Neighbors in Dewitt Curtis’ woods was a success from start to finish.

Some of our farmers are through haying. The cut worms help them out in great shape. Some don’t have any haying to do this year as their meadows were completely destroyed by the cut worms.
