This is the kind of weather that accounts for colds and wet feet and coughs.  So keep your honey by your side for protection.

The Schafskopf party at Frank Potter’s Monday evening was a grand success.  As Frank says anyone can play and win games if they only get the trumps.  But he says to hold only one black queen and try to make 61 points is out of the question.

D.H. Rhines is so as to be out again after his illness and is helping E.A. Holcomb in the harness shop at Neillsville.

Henry Schultz and Walter Lautenbach of Neillsville called at C.E. Reed’s Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Schoengarth of Neillsville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Reindel on Sunday.

Bill Plummer of Neillsville is helping Geo. Wilson cutting wood and bolt stock.

Geo. Wilson took hogs to market Monday but had his team of horses dressed with a new harness.

Aug. Poziombka, who has been on the sick list for the past 2 weeks, is able to be out again.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Shafer and daughter Ollie visited Sunday with Frank Potter and family.

There is to be a basket social at the school house Friday evening, March 14th.  Everyone is invited to attend and make it interesting and enjoy themselves, as the proceeds go for a good cause so help a good thing along.

We understand that a new superintendent was chosen by the county board to take the place to be vacated by Mr. W.J. Thayer.  As near as we can say, M.C. Redmond will oversee the institution after the 15th of March.
