Riedel, Elsie (Marriage - 18 April 1911)

On Tuesday at noon, April 18th, 1911 Mrs. Augusta Riedel’s home presented the scene of a wedding dinner.  A most excellent repast was enjoyed from the pretty smilax and carnation decorated table, immediately following which the bridal pair accompanied by the groom’s sister, Miss Clara Hubing and the bride’s brother Ernest Riedel entered the big E M F car of Will Kurth’s with Will at the wheel and left for Neillsville where at two o’clock the sacred words uniting Mr. Emil Hubing and Miss Elsie Riedel in the holy bonds of matrimony, were spoken by the Honorable Judge Oscar W. Schoengarth at his chambers in the court house.

The bride is the third daughter of Mrs. Augusta Riedel; a young woman of very pleasant address and of marked ability in the many essential qualities requisite for the position she is henceforth elected to fill; a bonny bride presenting a beautiful picture in her wedding dress of handsome blue mescaline. She wore a hat en suite and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.

The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hubing, a gentleman of many excellent qualities, a farmer owning and operating a farm just four miles from the pretty little city of Athens.  He is well qualified and quite competent to care for the bride he has so wisely chosen.

They left Neillsville on the evening train for Eau Claire. After a short wedding trip and a day or two here-about they will leave for their future home at Athens to begin housekeeping at once. Thus Athens gains two of Grant’s best known and most beloved young people. The good wishes of the entire community go with this happy pair into their new home.  May happiness and prosperity always be theirs.
