Haas, Margie (20 JUNE 1957)

En route to Washington, D. C. and other points east are the former Margie Ann Haas and Duane Frederick Stutte who were married Thursday.

The ceremony took place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 9 a.m., June 20, with the Rev. Father Edward Bertz officiating. A breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents with Miss Donna Lou Darton presiding. A reception was also held at the Haas home. Miss Darton and Lynn Lawrenz were in charge of the gift display. Dinner was served in St. Anthony’s dining hall.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Haas, Loyal, had her sister, Miss Mary Haas for her maid of honor. Nan Stutte, sister of the groom, and June Braun, a classmate throughout all of her school years, was bridesmaid.

The honor attendant wore a ballerina length gown of white sparkle net over blue net and taffeta. A blue tiara and matching nose veil formed her headdress. Her flowers were a heart shaped arrangement of yellow carnations edged with matching maline, with a spray of yellow roses and stephanotis at its base.

The bridesmaids wore yellow gowns identical to that of the maid of honor, and blue carnations in a heart shaped arrangement edged with maline, with a spray of yellow roses and stephanotis at the base, were carried by the bridesmaids.

Nylon tulle was chosen by the bride for her wedding gown. The floor length skirt was topped with an embroidered overskirt. The embroidered nylon tulle bodice was styled with a Sabrina neckline dotted with sequins. Short sleeves and embroidered mitts completed the ensemble. A matching pillbox headpiece trimmed with lace, sequins and pearls held her fingertip veil of silk illusion and she carried a cascade arrangement of happiness roses centered with a white orchid. She was given in marriage by her father.

To fulfill the old tradition she wore, for something old, a ring that belonged to her great-grandfather Hemphill; a blue garter, and she borrowed her grandmother Bremer’s crystal necklace and earrings.

Prenuptial showers were given by Mill Donna Lou Darton, Miss Mary Haas, and Miss Nan Stutte.

P,F. C. Terrance Stutte came from Camp Pendleton, California, to serve as his brother’s best man. They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Stutte, Loyal.

Dean Conway, Minneapolis, a cousin of the groom and Ronald Hoesser, Loyal, were groomsmen. Seating the guests were Bud Bremer, Loyal, uncle of the bride, & Glen Drake, Baraboo, cousin of the groom.

Also in the wedding party were two flower girls, Luanne Haas, sister of the bride, and Brenda Bremer, cousin of the bride, wearing identical dresses of white net over taffeta with rows of ruffles at hems and necklines, and carrying nose-gays of yellow roses, centered with blue carnations. Bruce Bremer, a cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

St. Anthony’s Choir, with Barbara Wepfer as organist, furnished the music for the wedding ceremony.

A blue silk print dress with a blue jacket and white accessories was worn by the mother of the bride and a blue linen dress with white accessories was chosen by the mother of the groom. Both corsages were of white carnations and garnett roses.

The couple are both graduates of the Loyal High School. The bride is employed by Dr. J. F. Leuck, dentist, Marshfield, and the groom attends the University of Wisconsin.

Out of town guests came from Grand Forks, N. Dakota; Minneapolis, Minn.; Chicago, Illinois; Baraboo, Greenwood, Balsam Lake, Marshfield, and Unity.
