Hillert, Frederick G. (23 May 1886 - 1 May 1963)

 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Frederick G. Hillert, 76, of Chili, who died May 1 at the Sunset Nursing Home in Fairchild.  The Rev. E. T. Keller of Pittsville officiated and burial was made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Granton.

 

Mr. Hillert was born May 23, 1886, in the Town of Grant, where he received his education.  He was engaged in farming in the Chili area until 1942, when he retired.  He also was a carpenter, following that trade for many years.  He had been a patient for the last eight months in the nursing home.

 

On October 14, 1915, he was married to the former Barbara Frei in Granton. She died in 1932.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Irving (Frieda) Vine, Granton; two sons, Walter of Chili and Harold of Westboro; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Elizabeth Sternitzky and Mrs. Martha Sternitzky, both of Granton.  Other survivors are: three brothers, Edward of Greenwood, Richard of Granton and Arthur Hillert of Chili; and six grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Carl G. Worchel, Edward Frei, Norbert Noeldner, Otto, and Erwin Sternitzky and Theodore Hillert.

 

"What a Friend we have in Jesus" and "Nearer My God to Thee" were sung by the Misses Gayle Montgomery, Elsie Garbisch and Eileen Garbisch, accompanied by Miss Ruth Garbisch.

 

Out-of-town people attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hillert, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Lichte and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lichte, all of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hillert, Tomah; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Worchel, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Worchel, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Frei, Margaret Worchel, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Luce and family of Loyal; Harold Hillert, Westboro and Mrs. Martha Sternitzky, Arpin.
