Bednarczyk, John F. (? - 15 October 2011) With Flag

 

Funeral services for CSM (ret.) John F. Bednarczyk, 85, of Clarksville, IN, were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville, IN.  Visitation was held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  He passed away Saturday at Providence Retirement Home.

 

John was born in Withee, WI, a graduate of Owen High School in Owen, WI, a retired Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army, and a veteran of WWII and the Vietnam War.  He was also retired from the Jeffersonville Post Office, a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, IN, the Sergeant Major’s Association and the 4th Infantry Division Association.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erna Mutzel-Bednarczyk; a son, Ronald Frank; his parents, Jan and Anna-Bednarczyk; and ten brothers and sisters: Aniela Anna "Nellie" Bednarczyk-Pomietlo, Mary Marie "Faye" Bednarczyk-Mosley, Annette Anne "Tony" Bednarczyk-Rose, Michael John Bednarczyk, Stanley John Bednarczyk, Sofia Stella "Sonny" Bednarczyk-Walker, Victoria Helen Bednarczyk-Johnson, Elizabeth Mary "Jean" Bednarczyk-Hryniewicki and Richard Edwin Bednarczyk.

 

He is survived by his son, John Louis Bednarczyk, and daughter-in-law Melinda Patterson-Bednarczyk; sisters-in-law: Ruth Guernsey-Bednarczyk and Dorothy Zagorski-Bednarczyk; and 13 nieces and nephews: Gloria Rose, Patrick Rose, Jeffery Rose, Michael E. Bednarczyk, William R. Bednarczyk, Joyce Johnson-Larson-delPino, Linda Johnson-Bobb, Russell Johnson, Alan Hryniewicki, Rebecca Hryniewicki, Susan Bednarczyk, Raymond Bednarczyk and Diane Bednarczyk-Szydel.
