Haag, Clara A. (27 March 1925 –2 October 2011)

 

Clara A. Haag, 86, of La Crosse died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her family and Winnie McGuire.

 

She was born in Neillsville March 27, 1925, to Theodore and Ida (Scheel) Kalsow. She married John Haag June 24, 1946, in St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, La Crosse.

 

She is survived by her husband John of La Crosse; one daughter, Mary E. Shepardson of Chippewa Falls; two sons, John P. (Cynthia) Haag of Stanley and Thomas Haag of La Crosse; one grandson, Scott T. of Austin, TX; two granddaughters, Clara Jean (David) Schafer of Eau Claire and Katherine (Paul) Noffke of St. Paul, MN; and two great-grandchildren, Sonya Clara and Samuel David. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Ethel Haag, and two brothers-in-law, Aloysius (Kay) Haag of California and Philip Haag of Florida.

 

She was preceded in death by one son Patrick in 1985; one grandson Daniel in 2002; her parents; two sisters, Velma and husband Theodore Mech, and Esther and husband Herbert Sternitzky; three brothers, Martin and wife Dorothy, Hans and Wife Renata and Raymond and wife Genevieve; two sisters-in-law, Billie and Hulda Haag; and two brothers-in-law, Stanley and wife Genevieve Haag, and Leo Haag.

 

A funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in St. James the Less Catholic Church, La Crosse with Rev. Roger Scheckel officiating.  Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St. at La Crosse, with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and also from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass in St. James Catholic Church Saturday.  Burial was held in Catholic Cemetery, at La Crosse.
