Pagel, John W. #2 (24 MAY 1912 - 9 FEB 2000)

 

John W. Pagel, age 87, of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000 at Oakbrook Heath & Rehab in Thorp.

 

John was born May 24, 1912 in the Town of Reseburg to Louis and Nettie (Harper) Pagel.  He married Katherine Biddle, March 9, 1932 in Thorp, WI.  He lived, farmed and worked in the Thorp area all his life.

 

Surviving are four sons: George (Carol) Pagel, Thorp, WI, Ronald (Ellie) Pagel, Stanley, WI, Gerald (Nancy) Pagel, and William (Jo Anne) Page, both of Eau Claire, WI;  15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Theron Page of Eau Claire, WI; five sisters: Alice Danielewicz of Owen, WI, Leora Dudansky of Thorp, WI, Evelyn Luer of Chicago, IL, Florence Stelter of Stanley, WI and Mary Ann Groettum of Minneapolis, Minn.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife on Sept. 26, 1994, 2 grandchildren, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp, with Rev. Robert Wilcken officiating.  Burial was in Sylvan Cemetery, Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp.

 

Visitation was on Friday from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday 1 hour prior to services at the church.
