Slater, Jeannine (13 APRIL 1957)

At home at Foster’s Trailer Court in River Falls are the new Mr. and Mrs. Robert Uhrig, whose wedding occurred in the Presbyterian Church in Hudson at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, with Dr. Ernest W. Wright officiating.

The bride, Miss Jeannine Slater’ daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Slater, Hudson, chose a princess style white Italian silk gown fashioned with a lace trimmed Sabrina neckline and a chapel train. A matching pillbox cap, trimmed with tulle and pearls, held her chapel length veil and she carried white carnations, jonquils, and narcissus.

Miss Joanne Slater, Hudson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Herbert Downing, River Falls, was bridesmaid. Both attendants wore waltz length gowns of pink chiffon over taffeta and carried pink carnations with narcissus and jonquils.

Robert Uhrig chose his brother, Arley Uhrig of Madison for his best man. They are sons of Fred Uhrig of Loyal. Willard Olson of Elmwood was groomsman and ushers were Thomas Calvert, Benton, Richard Kruger, Loyal, James Johnson, Ellsworth, and Richard Schwenk, Hudson.

Mrs. Harold Walbrandt was organist and Miss Dorsay Steichen sang "I Love Thee", by Grieg and "Wedding Prayer" by Mallot.

A reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony.

The couple are both juniors at Wisconsin State College at River Falls.

Uhrig, Miss Emily Uhrig, Mrs. Harold Collinson, Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Rowley and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. George Rowley, Mrs. Gilbert Kruger and Mr. Reynold Lindner, Mr. and Mrs. Arley Uhrig and Jeffrey of Madison also were among the guests.
