Sciezor, Harry Michael (30 September 1926 - 3 September 2011) With Flag

Harry Michael Sciezor of Grafton found peace while surrounded by his loving family on September 3, 2011, at the age of 84.  He was born on September 30, 1926, in Lublin to Michael Sciezor and Mary Kielbasa.

Harry married the love of his life, Jean (nee Hackett), on August 24, 1957.  He was the loving father of Jeanne (the late Wayne) Heidel, Patricia "Peachy" (Ted) Haischer, and Mary (Fred) Goetz.

"Gramps" was the much-adored grandfather of Renee (Wally) Miller, Ted (Lori) Haischer, Michael (Peggy) Haischer, Jeff (Wendy) Goetz, Jacque (Glenn) Weihert, Tricia (Jeff) Harte, and Katie (Craig) Kennison.

He was the dear brother of Florence Berseth, Eleanor Kucera and Alice Maul, and is further survived by 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Semmann.

As a young man, Harry had the opportunity to play ball with the New York Giants.  He was so fast at running the bases he earned the nickname "Slippery Sciezor."  That career ended when he was called to service at the age of 18.  Harry proudly served in the U. S. Army for two years during World War II as a prison guard in the Philippine Islands.  He was a member of the Rose-Harms American Legion Post #355.

Harry was a carpenter by trade. After his retirement, he worked in maintenance in the Grafton School system.  His master carpentry skills, craftsmanship and work ethic were well-known and admired by friends and co-workers alike.  Harry was a kind and gentle man who touched so many lives.  All who knew Harry loved and respected him.  Our dear Harry will be forever missed.

Visitation was Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton. A funeral service to honor Harry followed visitation. Interment was at the church cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to Eleanor Kucera, 501 W. Yellow St. Cadott, WI 54727
