East Lynn (13 January 1911)

Two of our East Lynn farmers that are old enough and ought to have known better drove out to H. Schultz in Fremont last Saturday night with their families and attended a birthday party.  The event was a jolly affair and enjoyed by all.  Ben Muir furnished the music and Glen Snow acted as floor manager. After refreshments were served and the guests were about to retrace their steps homeward, their surprise can be better imagined than described when they walked from a warm fire place into a driving snow storm.   Our two farmer friends that are possessed of as much nerve as the law allows them and it is a miracle that they have thus far escaped the calibus took weather observations on their homeward journey.  One of them said Florida was a better place to go on a spree while the other said something about the North Pole.

Mr. T. Olson returned from Illinois Tuesday where he has been visiting the past week.

C. Guk and A. Lindow left Wednesday morning with their teams for the northern part of the state where they have found employment in a logging camp.

H. Dietrich did not have their baby christened last Sunday as they intended on account of the stormy weather.

Thanks, Blondy, that postal was the real thing.

Oscar Franke cut feed for F. Grade one day last week.

Charles Sanger of Rockham, S. D., is visiting relatives and friends in Town of Lynn and Fremont.

The happiest days of a man’s life are when he can rest in the arms of another man’s wife - his mother.
