Chili (6 January 1911)

It is nice to have winter when it is time for winter, but when it comes down to the bottom of the thermometer it is not so nice. Then we consult the almanac for the weather and the days when spring ought to commence.

Announcements have been made that Mr. H. Montag and Miss Anna Fenske are going to be married next week at the home of the bride’s parents.

The basket sociable given by the Chili Star Band New Year’s Eve was a success socially as well as financially.

A good time was had by all those who attended.

A number from here attended the Insurance meeting at Granton Tuesday. Among those we notice were: Albert Fenske, August and Charles Kempin, John Henning, August Prust and E. A. Wonser.

Mrs. O. F. Walter and granddaughter Vivian took the Limited for Milwaukee where Vivian will have treatment of her eyes. They expect to return by way of Green Bay where Mrs. Walter will visit her daughter, Mrs. Maach for a few days.
