Saturday noon while L.N. Christenson was at home eating dinner, someone drove up with a load of bolts and he stepped out to scale them, looking up from his scaling he caught sight of the roof at the mill ablaze in several place.  He dropped the scale rule and made some of the quickest moves of his lifetime in the next few minutes, secured the hose and had a stream of water playing upon the roof in about as many minutes as it takes to tell it.  The fire was caused by the smoke stack burning out and its being discovered and put out so promptly little or no damage was done.

Tom Gibson’s horse took a few fancy sidesteps on his own account Saturday and in so doing broke the cutter for Tom.

S.D. Fraser is again on the sick list, taken suddenly Saturday.

The editor was seen in our town Saturday, looking up business.  He found everybody quite busy.

Nick Christman, who had an attack of pneumonia, is able to be around again and will soon take his post at the heading saw.

How would you like to find your overshoes frozen so tight to the floo that you can’t pull them off unless you use horse power.  Ask the depot agent about it, he will explain to you why he had to wade through the deep snow minus overshoes when the engine whistle called him to the depot Wednesday morning.

Remember the dance at new Woodmen Hall Feb. 22.

If you want a good range look at the samples of Royal steel ranges at Degner’s, he sells them at the right price.
