Alexander, Marcella (06 APR 1957-30 NOV 1956)

 

Marcella Elaine Alexander, 9, of route one, Owen, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital 10:20 a.m., November 30.

 

Death was the result of leukemia from which she had been ill for four weeks before being taken to the hospital a month ago.

 

She was born in St. Joseph’s Hospital, April 6, 1947. Marcella was a pupil in the fourth grade of Elmwood Graded School, town of Green Grove.

 

The body lay in state at the Myre Funeral Home, Loyal, from Saturday evening until taken to the North Green Grove Lutheran Church on Monday where funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. by Martin Krause. Burial was in the South Green Grove Lutheran cemetery.

 

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alexander of Owen; two sisters, Marie Ellen and Marlene Elizabeth. And two brothers, Dale and David, all at home; by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Franl Brecker, Loyal, and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Bird Alexander, Owen.

 

Active pallbearers were Dan Elison, Elmer Schuette, Harley Witt and Harley Hardrath. Honorary pallbearers were William Schuette, Dennis Witt, Jackie Molle, Arthur Raeck, Delmaine Schindler and Douglas Hardrath. Sally Hardrath, Alice Albert, Kathleen Anklam, and Shirley Molle were flower girls.

 

The honorary pallbearers and flower girls were schoolmates of Marcella. Mrs. Martin Krause was organist and she, accompanied by Mrs. Vernon Boss, sang, "I Fall Asleep in Jesus," and "Tender Shepherds."
