East Lynn (7 October 1910)

Those who attended the birthday party of Charles Neinas last Thursday were Reinhold, Wm and Chas Guk and Wm. Albrecht and families.  All report a good time.

Henry Dietrich is busy threshing beans with a club.

Emil Lindow called on one of his neighbors last Saturday evening to help put up some timbers overhead of one of his barn floors.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jensen drove to Chili Saturday morning.

Miss Lydia Pusheck returned home Monday from a week’s stay at L. E. Moh’s.

Henry Dietrich received word Monday that his mother is very ill.

Some people can find pleasure in almost anything even if it is nothing but a game of six-hundred Cinch.  We recently had occasion to witness one of these six cornered games and all the crooked work that was going on is almost unbelievable.  One made finger signs, the other had half of the cards up his sleeve, one always claimed the deuce and his partner forgot to play trump.  The clerk to our notion was the most honest one in the whole bunch.  We do not intend to point out the mistakes of others; but either play fair or cut it out.

Mr. Duge and best girl of Neillsville were Sunday visitors at Louis Knoop’s.
