Mr. and Mrs. Donald Horn and family went to Marshfield Sunday, Where they attended the "Blue Ribbon Horse Show" and showed their horse, "King Stormy Lane."  Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hodnett and family also attended and showed their horse, "King’s Top Man," receiving two trophies.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Horn of Aberdeen, S. D., and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shumann of Watertown have returned home after spending a week with the Horn families in this area.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie and Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre and daughters, Arlene and Jane, were recent guests in Eau Claire at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunn and became acquainted with the Voies’ great-granddaughter, Kim Renee, born August 14 to Mr. and Mrs. Duane Walker of Eau Claire.  Mrs. Walker is the former Sharon Dunn of Greenwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hall returned to Shawano Sunday.  She spent a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Horn, and her husband joined her Saturday.  The Horn’s son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Horn of La Crosse, left Sunday after spending a week with his parents.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Franz returned last Thursday evening after spending a month in Sidney, Mont. Sunday guests at the Franz home were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Franz of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Alvin Albert.  Sunday evening visitors were William Goeke and his sister, Mrs. Alma Busch. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jinkins, Diane and Larry Jinkins and Mrs. Anna Eaton of Necedah spent Tuesday with Mrs. Eaton’s niece, Mrs. John Wuethrich.

 

Mrs. Harry Plunkett, Sr., visited at Tomah from Sunday until Wednesday at the home of Miss Alice, Joseph and Ellsworth Plunkett.

 

Mrs. Robert Funke and Mrs. A. S. Rushka of New Holstein came Thursday to visit their mother, Mrs. O. J. Amundson.

 

Mrs. Christ Keiner and daughter, Louise, and Mrs. Hugh Severson and daughter, Carol, visited in Athens Tuesday with Mrs. Keiner’s brothers, Emanuel and August Romang and their families, and with other relatives.  They were supper guests at the Emanuel Romang, Jr., home.

 

Mrs. Anna Mason and Mrs. Clarissa Steele, accompanied by their guests, the Robert Mason family, went to Wisconsin Rapids Monday to visit at the John Mader home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hogue and daughters, Sharon of Cudahy and Kathleen of Tripoli, recently spent some time with his mother, Mrs. Ingaborg Hogue. The Bernard Hogues had returned from a trip to the west coast before coming here.

 

Mrs. Christ Keiner and daughter, Louise, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson attended a gathering of the Romang family Sunday at the Lawrence Neuenschwander home in Athens and also attended the Athens fair.  Others present were: Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Romang of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Romang of Marathon; Miss Sandra Neuenschwander of Whitewater; A. Krie of Dorchester; Hugo Belz, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Romang and daughter, June, Mrs. Hanna Romang, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Lehman and children, Gary and Diane, and Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Romang, Jr., and Edward Belz.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clocksene and daughters, Donna and Margie, of Groton, S. D., who attended the funeral of George Kern spent (missing line here).

 

Mrs. Rollin Williams returned to Stetsonville Friday after spending several days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Briski and at the Donald Berthold home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson and family and her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Poppe, visited in Bevey, Minn., from Friday until Sunday with Mr. Poppe’s brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Poppe.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Scherr spent from Friday until Sunday with their son, Martin Scherr, and his family, at the Ronald Goetsch home in Wausau, and at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Florian Herrick in Colby.

 

Charles Rossow, Jr. is spending a couple of weeks in Neillsville with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rossow.

 

Ervin Kollsmanberger underwent an appendectomy Friday at the Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Suda and family of Gurnee, Ill., returned home Friday after a 10-day visit with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Kitzhaber.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Marks arrived Friday from Milwaukee for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Metzke, and with her brother, James Metzke.
