All friends were greatly grieved when they learned that Fred Jenswold, who was taken to the hospital at Marshfield last week Tuesday, had passed away about six o’clock Thursday morning, June 28th, 1945.  None realized his condition was serious.

Frederick E. Jenswold, one of a family of thirteen children of Frichjuf and Everina Jenswold, was born in Yellow Medicine County, Minn., Feb. 7, 1883.  He grew to maturity and lived in Montevideo, Minn. until his marriage to Miss Mary Wittren of Fairchild, Wis. on June 9, 1909.  They settled in Duluth and lived there for seventeen years, at which time they moved to Rockford, Ill.   Since 1930, their home has been in this vicinity.  Just a few days before he was stricken with his last illness, Mr. and Mrs. Jenswold moved into the home they had purchased in this village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.).

Mr. Jenswold attained the age of 62 years, 4 months and 21 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two sons, Gordon of Milwaukee, and Walter of Kalamazoo, Mich.  One other son, George, gave his life in France, Sept. 20, 1944.  Also four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. C.L. Palmer, Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Iver Severson, Montevideo, Minn.; Mrs. A. Cavanaugh, Butler, S.D.; Mrs. Wesley Searle, Kelowna, B.C., Canada; Ludwig Jenswold, Montevideo, Minn.; and Severn Jenswold, Dayton, Ohio.  Two brothers and two sisters recently preceded him in death.

Funeral services, held at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon, following a prayer service at the chapel in Fairchild, were attended by a large number of relatives and friends, and were conducted by Rev. Floyd Fahlgren.  Mrs. Will Theiler and Mrs. Klassy, with Mrs. Smith accompanist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden," and "Face to Face."  Pallbearers were W.E. Waters, P.A. Hemmy, J.A. Johnson, Geo. Mueller, M. Kretschmer, and Will Ringrose.  Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.
