Hoesly, Mona Lane (Marriage - 18 August 1962)

The marriage of Mona Lane Hoesly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob H. Hoesly, and Lawrence A. Lockhart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence W. Lockhart of Manitowoc, was solemnized at 4 p.m. Saturday in the United Church of Christ in Neillsville.  The Rev. William F. Koehler, pastor of First United Church of Green Bay and a former pastor of the Neillsville church, officiated at a double ring ceremony.

The bride was given by her father in a beautiful ceremony which was witnessed by more than 150 relatives, neighbors and other friends,.  Telia Seton of Chicago served as maid of honor and Patrick Meeker of Stevens Point was bestman.  Ushers at the service were Allan Hoesly, brother of the bride, and Charles Burkart, brother in law of the groom.

Mary Ylvisaker, a friend of the bride, sang "The Ring" by Schumann and "The Lord’s Prayer" by Malotte.  Eileen Zank presided at the organ.  Altar decorations included pink roses and white gladioli.

The bride wore an exquisite silk organza ballerina length bridal gown. A scoop neckline, enhanced with Alencon   lace sparkling with sequins and seed pearls, and three-quarter length sleeves accented the fitted Basque bodice.  The dome skirt was fashioned with appliqués of Alencon lace sparkling with sequins on the front.  The back was styled with unpressed pleats touched off by a small bow. A silk organza pill box enhanced with seed pearls and crystals held her silk illusion ballerina length veil.  Her flowers were a pink orchid surrounded by pink sweetheart roses and stephanotis.

Miss Seton wore a fern green street length dress of silk organza. The fitted bodice with scoop neck and cap sleeves was accented by the full gathered skirt and cord belt. She wore matching shoes and head band and carried a bouquet of white roses.

Following the service, 130 guests gathered in the American Legion Hall for a reception dinner which was served by the American Legion Auxiliary.  Decorations included a pink and white carnation centerpiece on the punch table, bud vases of pink roses on the head tables, and tall containers of white gladioli accented the wedding cake table. The newly weds left by car for a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and Michigan.  They will be at home to their friends at 1609 West Claremont Ave. at Eau Claire, after August 26.

The bride attended Neillsville elementary schools and was graduated from Neillsville High School in 1957. She was graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in June 1961, with the Bachelor of Science degree in education. She taught last school year in Eau Claire Memorial High School and will continue as a teacher in the same school.

The groom was graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1954.  He attended Lakeland College and Wisconsin State College in La Crosse and spent four years in the U. S. Navy.  He has been employed in Kortas Automotive Co. of Manitowoc but plans to continue his education this fall in Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire.

Many neighbors and friends joined with a large number of out of city guests in attending the marriage ceremony and reception.  At the wedding reception Mrs. Patrick Meeker of Stevens Point, served as hostess, Mrs. Arthur Wittmershaus of Bangor was in charge of guest registrations, Katherine Metcalf of Dodgeville cut the wedding cake and punch was poured by Janice Yenni, Carolyn and Kathleen Svetlik.
