Laffe, Hilda M. (4 JUN 1945)

Miss Hilda Marie Laffe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. Laffe of Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), and Lt. James L. Sutton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sutton of Merrillan, were united in marriage at a candlelight service at the Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church in Madison, Monday, June 4th, 1945.  The Rev. C.M. Zenk officiated.

The bride wore a white dress with white accessories and had a corsage of American Beauty roses.  The groom, being a member of the army air force, wore his dress uniform.  The attendant of the bride was her sister, Miss Esther Laffe, who wore an aqua dress with white accessories, with a corsage of roses and sweet peas.  The groom was attended by the bride’s brother, Herman Laffe of Morrisonville, who wore a navy blue suit.  The bride’s mother wore a dress of navy blue and a white gardenia.  The groom’s mother wore a lavender dress with white gardenia.

A reception was held at the bride’s apartment in Madison following the wedding ceremony.  There were twenty relatives and friends present.  A short honeymoon to the southern part of the state was the plan of the newlyweds, as the groom has only a short furlough from his army service.

The bride, who is a graduate of the local high school, became a beautician, and is the manager of the Endres Beauty Salon in Madison.  The groom is a navigator on a B-24, and has just returned from overseas duty.
