Leckman, Julia #2 (22 MAR 1896 - 18 NOV 1959)

 

Mrs. Oscar Leckman, a former resident of the Town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), up until a little more than a year ago was returned here from Athens for final rites which were conducted from the Church of the Open Bible at Curtiss.  Rev. James Stone officiated at the final rites Saturday afternoon with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Alfred Thompson, Ernest Mowery, Linwood Harris, Wilfred Marcott, Neil Green and Floyd Buchanan.  Carrying the floral offerings were Mrs. Floyd Buchanan, Mrs. Mary Bulgrin, Mrs. Lillian Jensen, Mrs. Betty Marcott and Mrs. Art Schley.

 

Julia Leckman was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Skaglund, having been born March 22, 1896 at Bismarck, N.D.  In 1919 she and Oscar Leckman were married at Fergus Falls, Minn.  Later they moved to Libertyville, Ill., where they spent most of their lives until 1953 when they moved to the Curtiss community settling on a farm in the Town of Hoard where they resided for five years.  They then moved to their present home at rural route Athens in the Town of Marathon.

 

Death came to her Wednesday, Nov 18th, 1959, while a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was being treated for a cerebral hemorrhage.  She had attained the age of 63 years.

 

Mourning her sudden passing are her husband, three sons, Curtiss and Donald of Waukegan, Ill., and Richard of Libertyville, Ill.; two daughters, Fern Ledin of Waukegan and Genevieve of Libertyville, and 11 grandchildren.
