Neville, William Sr. (20 July 1885 - 26 February 1962)

A requiem high mass will be read today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. for William Neville, Sr., 76, of Neillsville, who died February 26.  He had been a hospital patient since February 14.  The Rev. Fr. Bernard T. Kelly will officiate.  Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

A combined general and Holy Name Rosary, was said Wednesday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home.

William Neville, son of the late Michael and Anna (Maden) Neville, was born July 20, 1885, near Christie.

In 1910 he went to Canada and worked there until 1916, when he returned to the Neillsville area.  He was engaged in the threshing and lumber sawing business for many years prior to going to West Bend, where he worked for eight years.

During his residence in Neillsville he worked at the former Weidenhoff plant until it closed, and served as janitor of the Northside School for eight years before he retired due to ill health.

On November 11, 1918, he was married to the former Anna Wendt. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Holy name Society.

Mr. Neville is survived by his wife and two sons, William, Jr., Rt. 3, Neillsville, and Leo of Madison. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.
