Awe, Edwin B. #3 (24 MAY 1883 - 24 FEB 1959)

 

Edwin B. Awe, a pioneer resident of the Green Grove Township (Clark Co., Wis.), succumbed to the complications of old age, passing away Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, where he was being treated.

 

Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.  The Rev. Harold Miller, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Green Grove, will officiate at the final rites.  Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Melvin Buchholz, Edgar Buchholz, Reuben Schulte, Harry Lipprandt, Everett Awe and Walter Fink.

 

The deceased was born May 24, 1883 in the Town of Longwood.  On March 27, 1907, he and Frieda Schulte were united in marriage.  The couple made their home in the town of Green Grove, where he successfully farmed until his retirement.  After retiring they moved to California, living there but one year when they returned to Green Grove.

 

Survivors include three sons, Edward of California; Lester of Manitowoc, Wis., and Royale of Colby; five daughters, Mrs. Steve (Adeline) Konik, Cleveland, Wis.; Mrs. Uno (Norma) Kolpanen, Owen; Mrs. Clark (Laura) Van Gorder, Waukegan, Ill.; Mrs. Erwin (Gertha) Jable, Westchester, Ill., and Mrs. Walfred (Dorothy) Wirtala, Waukegan, Ill.; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
