Liazuk, Rose M. (3 April 1913 - 6 April 2011)

 

Rose M. Liazuk, 93, of Gilman, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Gilman Care Center under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born on April 3, 1918, in Biron, WI, the daughter of the late Martin and Holdina (Knoll) Glebke. Her family moved to the area soon thereafter and Rose attended area schools, graduating from Gilman High.  On September 30, 1939, she married Stanley Liazuk in Gilman.

 

Rose was a sports fan, made many beautiful Afghans, loved bowling (well into her 80’s) and fishing, and was an avid gardener. She also babysat many local children over the years and was a very active member at Zion Lutheran Church.

 

She is survived by her children: Ellen Liazuk of Crestwood, IL, Diana (Jon) Hillstead of Wisconsin Rapids, Carolyn (Allen) Siok of Gilman, Jayne Kaczmarcik of Marshfield and Bruce (Nancy) Liazuk of Medford; two daughters-in-law: Juanita Liazuk of Brookside, FL, and Rita Liazuk of Gilman; 13 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

Rose is preceded in death by her husband (1987); her parents; her sons: Robert, Gary "Butch" and Brian; her brothers: Carl and Earl Glebke; her sister, Helen Hall; and a daughter-in-law, Penny.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church, Gilman, with Rev. Gary Paul officiating. Burial followed at the Meadowbrook Cemetery.  Visitation was from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Gilman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
