Stasek, Paul D. (November 3, 1932 - February 20, 2011)

Paul D. Stasek, 78, of Owen, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at his residence.

Paul was born on November 3, 1932, to Paul E. and Dorothy E. (Roohr) Stasek in Colby.

He was a graduate of Owen High School. Paul entered the US Air Force in 1950, serving during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954.

Paul was a heavy equipment operator for Hoffman Construction in Black River Falls most of his life. He was a member of operating engineers local #139. Paul was a dedicated member of Saint Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen, Boomtown Snochasers Snowmobile Club and the Owen Masonic Lodge since 1962, where he held four chief offices and was a master two times, the last being in 2009.

He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing, he looked forward to spending time every year at the deer camp with the Curtis Family. Paul had a special love for his black lab hunting dogs.

Paul is survived by his brother, Ronnie (Lois) Stasek of Bismark, Ariz.; sister, Gaymond Laabs of Shawano and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Shirley Ewert on August 6, 2010.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Saint Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen. Deacon Tony Ring will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen on Thursday, February 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites to be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery Withee with full military rites conducted by the Owen and Lublin American Legion.
