Salo, Maria (9 SEP 1888 - 10 MAY 1958)

 

Mrs. Maria Salo passed away Saturday evening, May 10, 1958 at 11:30 p.m. after a long illness.  She was born in Finland Sept. 9, 1886, and came to America as a young lady and was married to Gust Salo at Hurley on Feb. 10, 1910.  They lived in Hurley until 1920 when they moved to their present home in the town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

Services were conducted Wednesday, May 14, 1958, at 2:00 o’clock at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home with Rev. J.H. Saarinen officiating.  Mrs. Saarinen furnished the vocal and organ music.

 

She is survived by her husband, Gust Salo, and two sons, Hugo and Arvo at home, and four daughters, Alive (Mrs. George Makinen), Detroit, Mich., Joyce (Mrs. David Holahan), Chicago, Ill., Rija (Mrs. William Lucas), Willard, and Taimi (Mrs. Robert Buski), Greenwood, and eight grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were Frank Darye, Milton Seaman, Frank Stone, Solomon Laakso, Santor Warjonen, Toivo Maninen.  Flowers were carried by Mrs. Maninen, Mrs. Laakso, Mrs. Cass, Mrs. George Wnukowski.  Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
