Sonderegger, William (28 May 1888-28 Aug 1953)

 

Services were held Monday for William Sonderegger, 65, route 1, Greenwood, who dies at his home at 6:30 a.m. Friday of a heart ailment. Run over by a truck two years ago, he had been in ill health since.

 

The Rev. Jack Gnether, Neillsville conducted rites at 2 p.m. in Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, and burial was made in Greenwood cemetery. Born May 28. 1888, in Switzerland, Mr. Sonderegger came to the United States in 1907 and settled in Buffalo county as a maker of  Swiss cheese. He moved toe the Town of Beaver 28 years ago and farmed 17 years, then moved to a farm 6 miles northeast of Greenwood where he lived until his death.

 

He was married in 1910 in LaFayette county to Julia Rode. She survives him.

 

Other survivors includes four sons, Clarence, James and Arthur, Greenwood, and Robert, Wausau; a daughter, Mrs. Inez Langfeldt, Wausau; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Hohl, Greenwood; a brother Fritz of Switzerland; and 10 grandchildren.

 

A daughter, Margaret, and a brother, Jake, preceded him in death.
