Krause, Kathleen Carla (Marriage - 19 August 1961)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Evan Dieck in Zion American Lutheran Church, Town of Grant, uniting in marriage Miss Kathleen Carla Krause, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause, Rt. 2 Granton, and Richard F. Quast, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quast, Neillsville.

Baskets of white gladioli and blue painted daisies adorned the altar as the bride was given in marriage by her father. She was attired in a floor-length gown of rose point lace and nylon tulle. A full peplum back over the skirt showed an all-ruffled back skirt of tulle over net and taffeta. The tulle front skirt showed bands of lace, giving a tiered effect.  A Basque bodice was styled with a Sabrina neckline edged in lace. A queen’s crown of orange blossoms held the fingertip veil of French illusion. She carried a crescent bouquet of blue and white stephanotis, centered with a white orchid.

Mrs. Wallace C. Krause, Cudahy, was her sister-in-law’s matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Sandra Kurth, Miss Marlyn Meier, Mrs. Robert Quast and Mrs. Charles Glassbrenner.  The attendants were attired in ballerina length dresses of copen blue nylon chiffon over taffeta, with fully shirred skirts. Tiered backs gave a bustle effect, rising to a softly shirred midriff. The gowns were complete with a trim bodice of matching lace with scoop necklines and tiny capped sleeves.  Their bouquets consisted of blue pompons and white gloriosas.

Mrs. Krause witnessed her daughter’s wedding in a copen blue embroidered silk dress with white accessories. The groom’s mother was attired in a pink embroidered silk dress with bone accessories.

Cheryl Ann Krause, Cudahy, served her aunt as miniature bride, and wore a dress identical to that of the bride. Larry Sisson of West Allis carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

A wedding supper for 225 guests was served in the church basement and was followed by a reception at the bride’s home.

The best man was Robert Quast. Groomsmen were Roger Krause of Granton, Kenneth Krause of Menomonee Falls, Wallace Krause of Cudahy and Charles Glassbrenner of Neillsville.

William Chambers sang, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Wedding Prayer," accompanied by Miss Joyce Winter.

On their return from a wedding trip to northern Michigan Mr. and Mrs. Quast will reside in River Falls, where the groom is a senior in Wisconsin State College. The bride is a graduate of Wood County Teachers College in Wisconsin Rapids, and will teach this year at the Cloverdale School, near Beldenville.
