Paulsrud, Joseph (14 July 1905 - 22 August 1961)

 

Funeral services were conducted Friday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Joseph Paulsrud, 56, of Beloit, who was found dead in his hotel room Tuesday evening. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer of the Methodist Church officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with graveside military rites.

 

Mr. Paulsrud was born July 14, 1905, in Neillsville, and was the son of the late Andrew and Inga (Nielson) Paulsrud.  He attended the Neillsville schools and in August 1942, entered the service.  He received his discharge in October, 1945.  For the last eight years he had been employed by a lumber and fuel company in Beloit.

 

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Olga) Brandon, Peoria, Ill.; and Mrs. Joe (Agnes) Cichocki, Buffalo, N. Y.

 

Pallbearers were: Herman Moen, Olaf Botnen, John Gloff, John Gullickson, Fred Appleyard and George Meihack.  Flowers were carried by Mrs. Victor Counsell and Mrs. James Hughes.

 

The military rites were under the supervision of P. C. Ludovic. Color bearers were Gus Carl and Harold Pischer; firing squad, Herman Tesmer, Arnold Henchen, Leon Stanley and Clarence Haigh; color guard, Alvin Voelker; bugler, Miss Diane Raine.

 

People from away attending the service were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandon, Peoria, Ill.; Fred Timmler and Mrs. James Hughes, Greenwood; and Alvin Voelker, Chili.
