Hemp, Anna (20 October 1870 - 4 August 1961)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Hemp, 90, of Neillsville, who died Friday, were held Monday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Hemp, the former Anna Dudei, was born October 20, 1870, in Germany. She was the daughter of the late August and Dora (Worchel) Dudei.  At the age of 17, she came to the United States with three brothers and settled in Clark County.

 

On June 6, 1892, she was married to the late Albert Hemp at Glove, where they farmed until 1925.  On their retirement they moved into their home on West Street, where she has resided since.  Mr. Hemp died in 1953.

 

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. William (Mamie) Hoffman, Ervin and Herman Hemp, all of Neillsville, and Richard Hemp of Mosinee. Six grandchildren also survive.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

 

The Georgas Funeral Home made funeral arrangements.

 

Pallbearers were: Harold and Hubert Dudei, William Diercks, Erwin Grap, Herbert Hemp and George Beyer.

 

Robert Mitte sang, "Be Still My Soul" and "Lus Mich Gehen," accompanied by Victor Lehman at the organ.

Kell, Mrs. Earl Aschenbrenner, Mrs. Frieda Fahner, Mrs. Charles Ruck, Mr. and Mrs. P. Seensberg, all of Mosinee; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hillert, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Grap and daughter, Greenwood; Mrs. J. Wheeler, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Richard Bartz, Akron, O.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lemke, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hemp, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hemp, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Anna Pischer, Mrs. Anna Dudei, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Dudei and family, Harold Dudei, Edward Kalsow, and Mr. and Mrs. John Gluch, all of Granton.
