Muir, Thomas (1843 - 7 FEB 1924)
Thomas Muir an aged and respected pioneer settler of Nasonville passed away at 4:30 o'clock a.m. this morning, at the old homestead he had helped to establish more than sixty years ago.

Death was due to illness attendant to old age. He had been ill most of the past winter, much of the time confined to his bed, quietly waiting for the angel of death to carry his spirit to his reward for faithful and honest effort among family and friends here on earth. With his passing, Nasonville loses another of its pioneer settlers who have made that community the great dairy and farming section it is today.

Deceased was born in Canada in 1843. He came with his parents to Central Wisconsin (someone wrote in in 1868) settling immediately on a piece of wild land near the Clark county line. There he was married and raised a family of four sons, William and Samuel in this city, Calvin on a farm in the town of Lincoln and Benjamin on the old homestead, and two daughters Miss Elizabeth at home and Mrs. Wm. McBirney, Chippewa Falls, all of whom survive. His wife also survives at the old farm home. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church at Nasonville.

In spite of the stormy weather last Saturday a large number of friends and neighbors gathered at the Presbyterian church to pay their final tribute to Thomas Muir, one of the pioneers of this community. Rev. F. J. Jordan, Marshfield, delivered the funeral address and a choir composed of Mesdames M. Dickerson, W. Nason, J. Dix and L. Gepner accompanied by Mrs. W. Wilcox, sang several appropriate songs. The pall bearers were Tom Hart, F. Riewdel, H. Riedel, J. Clark, H. Sherman and A. McTavish. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family.

(Obituary notice of above named deceased was published in last weeks HeraldEd.)
