Neillsville Locals (9 March 1961)

 

Mrs. Viola Shaw, Milwaukee, arrived Friday for a visit with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shaw.  Mrs. Shaw, a former resident is returning today (Thursday) .

 

The Rev. and Mrs. Frank B. Harcey drove to Eau Claire Tuesday and brought their son, Dennis home with them.  He observed Wednesday in the Greenwood Schools.

 

Frank St. John of Cannonville was moved to Memorial Hospital Monday evening by ambulance.

 

Mr. and Mrs. David Pietenpol and Michael of Eau Claire visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pflughoeft, Monday.

 

Merlin Lindow was confined to his bed with tonsillitis Monday and Tuesday.

 

Martin Kapusta of Milwaukee visited his mother, Mrs. Irene Kapusta, last weekend.

 

Mrs. Bessie Brandmo returned Monday to Hatfield after spending three weeks in Memorial Hospital.

 

Kathy, Jeanette and Patricia Boge of Marshfield were weekend visitors at the Ray Boge home.

 

Dick Garson will be in charge of the Rotary program next Monday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Georgas spent two days last week in Rochester, Minn.

 

Bill Puttkamer of Lake Mills visited Mrs. Susan Schultz a few days last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Archie Amo of Black River Falls were dinner and supper guests at the Floyd Short Home Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wall and Mr. and Mrs. Milo Reese attended a convention in Milwaukee last Thursday and Friday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Lathrop and family of Marshfield visited here Friday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Scholtz attended the marriage of Doris Tullis in Milwaukee last week. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Swanton in Oconomowoc.  Mr. and Mrs. William Tullis of Sherwood, Mrs. Mayme Gall and Joe and Theo Hueser of Arpin also attended the wedding.

 

Mrs. Lewis Scholtz was confined to her home with sciatic rheumatism last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jensen of Eau Claire were weekend visitors at the home of their son, Garth Jensen and his family.

 

Mrs. Ray Tesmer and Mrs. LaMarr Hardwick and daughter visited Mrs. Elgie Hardwick in Altoona Friday.

 

Mrs. Gordon Kovolsky of Horicon visited Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hauge last Thursday and Friday.

 

Mrs. Margaret Farrand and granddaughter, Sheri Drescher, went to Chicago last weekend.  Monday and Tuesday they attended a convention.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Olson, Jr., of Wisconsin Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dorn of Abbotsford were weekend visitors at the Oluf Olson home, and called on Mr. Olson at the convalescent home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Subke were dinner guests at the Martin Kalina home and supper guests at the John Subke home Thursday in observance of his birthday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schutte and family and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Durst visited Mr. and Mrs. Victor Durst in Fairchild last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ambelang visited at the Fred Mohr home Friday.

 

Mrs. Edna Ketel has returned from Friendship, where she visited her brother, Charles Gilman.  She also visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gerold in Port Washington.

 

Mrs. Victor Schultz of Eau Claire visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wittke last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz recently entertained Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Smetana and Lori of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carl and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Carl of Nekoosa, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Carl and family of Port Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Karnitz and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dux of Pine Valley.
