Raatz, Dorothy A. (9 JUN 1962)

Marriage vows between Miss Dorothy A. Raatz and A-2c Douglas A. Denzine, were exchanged in a double ring service Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity, Wisconsin, with the Rev. R. V. Langroth officiating.  During the 2 o’clock ceremony, Miss Marilyn Messer sang "The Lord’s Prayer."

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard W. Raatz of Unity and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Hargraves of Abbotsford.

Attending the bride were Miss Sandra Pachal of Loyal, as maid of honor, and Miss Patricia Hargraves of Abbotsford, as bridesmaid.

Larry Raatz of Unity, as best man, and Ed Raatz, Jr. of Colby, groomsman; and Randy Hargraves of Abbotsford and Orville Barkow Jr., ushers, completed the wedding party.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of lace with scalloped neckline, long pointed sleeves and a skirt that parted in the front to show off nylon net pleating.

A headdress of pearls and sequins held her veil of sheer nylon.  She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.

Her attendants wore frocks of nylon over taffeta.  Green was chosen for the maid of honor and pink for the bridesmaids.  They wore wrist corsages of yellow and white carnations.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Raatz selected a beige ensemble and the groom’s mother chose one of blue.  Both had corsages of yellow and white carnations.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Don Colby’s and supper was served to about 180 guests.  A wedding dance was held at Memorial Hall, Dorchester.

Mr. and Mrs. Denzine left on a wedding trip to Canada.  On Wednesday morning Mr. Denzine left for Germany, where he will be stationed for the next 20 months.  The bride is staying with her parents for the present.

Guests at the wedding came from Abbotsford, Colby, Athens, Loyal, Owen, Thorp, Spencer, Prentice and Appleton.
