Bunkelman, Vera Ann (5 MAY 1962)

Miss Vera Ann Bunkelman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bunkelman of Milan, and Francis Otto von Schrader, Eau Claire, son of Freeman von Schrader and the late Mrs. Von Schrader, were united in marriage Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Eau Claire.  Father O’Reilly read the marriage service preceded the nuptial mass.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown that featured elbow length sleeves and a chapel train.  A rose headpiece adorned with pearls held her elbow length veil and she carried a cascade bouquet made with three cymbidium orchids and lily of the valley.

Attending her as the maid of honor was Miss Loan Brooks.  Two other friends, Miss Evelyn Meadow and Miss Tekla Culver, all of Eau Claire, and her cousin, Miss Mary Houlehan of Green Bay, were her bridesmaids.

Freeman von Schrader was the best man for his brother.  Three friends were groomsmen, Paul Fuson of Fargo, N.D., Don Samuelson of Minneapolis and Mike McDonald of Eau Claire.  Seating the guests at the church were David Krumenauer and D. Anderson of Eau Claire.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Bunkelman chose a dress of beige linen with a lace over linen bodice and brown accessories.  She wore a corsage of gardenias.

Mr. Hazel Houlehan of Milan, godmother of the bride, was honored with a corsage of white carnations.

Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast for the immediate family was served at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.  About 300 guests attended the reception, which was also held there.  A large wedding cake, which, white soap dragons and yellow and white carnations were used in the table arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Von Schrader left on a wedding trip on the Mississippi River on his father’s boat.  On their return, they will be at home at 1710 Goff Avenue, Eau Claire.

The bride, a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and Wis. State College, Eau Claire, is a welfare worker for the Eau Claire County Welfare Department.

Her husband is a graduate of Regis High School and also attended Wis. state College.  He is employed at the General Motors Corp office at Eau Claire.
