Washburn Township (26 January –1961)

 

Oliver Williams underwent surgery in a Marshfield hospital Monday.  He has been a patient there since last week Wednesday.

 

Armand Nuernberger went to Wausau Sunday, where he visited his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Mikulis, and their family.  Their little son, Eddie Joe, 3 1/2 was seriously injured last week when he was struck by a car as he ran across the street.  He is still in critical condition in a Wausau hospital.

 

Mrs. Elmer Kapfer entertained the Cannonville Ladies Aid last Thursday with quite a large attendance.  Mrs. Oliver Williams will be hostess at the February meeting.

 

Mrs. Lewis Olson returned to Hillsboro last Thursday afternoon after spending several days with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short.

 

Bruce Spiegel’s children have chickenpox.

 

Frank St. John has been very ill at his home the past few weeks.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short and Mrs. Lewis Olson, were Wednesday dinner guests at the Mrs. Frank Short home.  They called in the afternoon at the Irving Stevens and Mrs. William Ottow homes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Schultz were Sunday dinner guests at the Elmer Kapfer home.

 

Miss Vera Lincoln, who is employed in Minneapolis, and Kenneth Lindow, a student at Northwestern Bible College spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lindow.

 

Mrs. Casper Dieter has been employed at Light’s Café since last week.

 

Mrs. Jack Urban and daughter, Brenda, were Sunday dinner guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens, while Jack and daughter Debbie went ice fishing at Hatfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short and Mrs. Lewis Olson were dinner guests at the Art Shrot home last (missing date).
