Buchanan, Joyce (21 OCT 1961)

Miss Joyce Buchanan and Eldon Stanton were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 21, 1961.  The ceremony was performed at 2 o’clock by the Rev. jes. R. Stone at the Owen Alliance Church at Owen.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Floyd Buchanan of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) of Curtiss, route 1, and Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Stanton of Kalispell, Mont.

During the ceremony, at which the bride was given in marriage by her father, Miss Pat Vytaeil sang "Together with Him" and "The Wedding Prayer."  Miss Rhoda Nelson was pianist.

The bride was attired in a floor length gown fashioned with a lace bodice with long sleeves and a modified Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls.  Scattered appliques in the front and a sash and large bow at the back detailed the full hoop skirt of silk over taffeta.  A queen’s crown of seed pearls and orange blossoms held her fingertip veil.  She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white carnations and stephanotis.

Royal blue imported taffeta frocks were selected for the bridesmaids.  They carried cascade bouquet of yellow and white carnations.

Attendants at the ceremony were Miss Marlene Gerstel of Canonsburg, Pa., John Skora of Wildrose, N.D., and Miss Loretta Stanton of Kalispell, Mont., and Kenneth Buchanan of Curtiss.

Vern Buchanan of Curtiss and Paul Lindburg of Ronan, Mont., performed the ushering duties.

The bridal couple have been students at St. Paul Bible College at St. Paul, Minn., the bride for one year and the groom for three years.  He is currently employed at the Safeway Store, Inc., in Kalispell.
