Lundgren, Oscar (17 May 1863 - 17 May 1954)

Funeral services for Oscar Lundgren, 91, will be held at the Myre Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday (today).

Oscar Lundgren was born in Kolman, Sweden, May 17, 1863.  He was married to Lillie Lora Stevens at Marshfield, Feb. 23, 1890.  The family lived in Spokeville for many years.  Mr. Lundgren worked as a sawyer in lumber mills in Ludington, Mich., and Bayfield and Ashland. The family moved to Port Wing, in 1914 and Mr. and Mrs. Lundgren came to Loyal to live one and one-half years ago.

Mrs. Lundgren died April 15 of this year, and for the past two weeks Mr. Lundgren has been a patient at the Clark County Hospital.  He has been ill for the past six years.  Death was the result of old age.

Rev. M. W. Mecklenburg will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery with graveside services by members of the Masonic Order.

He is survived by one son, Lynn Lundgren of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Ed Lundgren and one sister, Mrs. Adla Freiberg of Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Oscar Lundgren, 91, who died at the Clark County Hospital on his birthday anniversary, May 17, 1954, were held at the Myre Funeral Home Thursday, at 2 p.m.  The Rev. W. M. Mecklenburg officiated.  The hymns, "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs. Romaine Rossow, with Mrs. Byron Zepplin as organist.

Pallbearers were: Don and Harold Stabnow, Jim Plank, from Greenwood, Masonic Lodge No. 249, and Lothar Oestreich, V. O. Kauffman, and Earl Reinertson, Lodge No. 335.  Masonic rites were given at the graveside with Frank Schwanke as Chaplain.

Those from away who attended the funeral services were Lynn Lundgren, Eureka Springs, Arkansas; Mr. and Mrs. Schmallenberg, Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Krauss, Cedarburg; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cole, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lindekugel, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schmidtke, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tillman, Owen; and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Summers, Unity.
