Stelzel, Mr./Mrs. Louis (Gold - 28 JUN 1961)

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stelzel, town of Holton, began the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary Sunday by attending morning services in the Peace Evangelical Church, Dorchester, the church in which their marriage took place June 28, 1911.

About 160 guests joined them at a 4 o’clock dinner at the church hall, after which a reception was held at the village hall at Abbotsford.

For the occasion, the church hall was decorated with baskets of flowers, gold bells and streamers.  The centerpiece on the honored couple’s tale was an arrangement made by Mrs. Richard Barr, sister of Mrs. Stelzel, consisting of yellow roses and yellow tapers in a bronze container.  Mixed flowers in gold boxes made up the centerpiece on the other tables.

All of the children, grandchildren and sisters and brothers of the honored couple attended the celebration.

Guests came from Chicago Heights, Ill., Minneapolis, Chippewa Falls, Madison, West Allis, Menomonee Falls, Wausau, Tomahawk, Heafford Junction, Marshfield, La Crosse, Dorchester and Abbotsford.
