Burzynski, Bernard J. (29 OCT 1940 - 4 JAN 2011)
THORP -- Bernard J. Burzynski, 70, of Thorp, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at The Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Florida.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pentecostal Assembly in Eau Claire. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Thorp Funeral Home.
Bernard John Burzynski was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Chicago, the son of Benjamin and Lottie (Liszewski) Burzynski. He was united in marriage to Darlene D. Winiarczyk on May 14, 1960, at Pentecostal Assembly in Eau Claire. He served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Bernie worked as a mechanic at his father-in-law's Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership, Thorp Sales & Service. He later went into a partnership with his father-in-law until the dealership was sold in the late 1970s. Bernie then began his own business, Bern's Sales & Service, working as a mechanic and selling cars.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Thorp; two sons, Steve (Cindy) Burzynski of Fortville, Ind., and Kevin (Thersea) Burzynski of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Loretta Jarocki of Withee.
