Mueller, August (9 JUN 1885 - 30 JAN 1952)

 

Funeral services for August Mueller, age 66, who died Wednesday p.m., Jan. 30th, 1952, after a lingering illness, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2nd, in the Salem Lutheran Church, Veefkind.

 

The Rev. Adolph Schumann of Globe officiated and burial was made in Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

 

Attending church in a group was Fremont Grange No. 763, who conducted graveside services.

 

Mr. Mueller was born June 9, 1885 in the Township of Sherman, Clark County, where he received his education and grew to manhood.  He spent many winters in the woods and cleared the land on the farm where he lived.

 

He was an active helper in the building of Salem’s Lutheran Church and parsonage, of which congregation he was a member.  He was also a member of Fremont Grange No. 763.

 

The pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Donald, Richard and Ray Mueller, Darrel Farnsworth, Herbert Rahm and Peter Schluetter.

 

The congregation sang "A Pilgrim and a Stranger" and "All Men Living are but Mortal," accompanied by Miss Natalie Schumann at the organ.

 

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mary Ellen at home; one sister (Mary) Mrs. Charles Rahm of Loyal, and two brothers, Charles of Chili and John of Spencer, R. 2.

 

Three brothers, henry, Fred and George, and one sister, Minnie, and his parents preceded him in death.

 

Those from out of town attending included Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Roberts, Oshkosh; Mrs. Harvey Fisher, Mrs. Roy Rhoerscneider and Mr. and Mrs. Elgart Grams of Fox Lake; Mrs. Mary Maas, Mrs. Herbert Otto, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hunt and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Maas of Randolph; Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Phelps, Mrs. John Kabele of Portage; Mrs. Emma Wukert of Hartford; Mrs. William Ternes, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horn and Richard Mueller of Milwaukee; Mrs. LeRoy Stabnow, Mellen; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schluetter, Clam Lake; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry TeSelle, Sheboygan.
