Shortville (3 November 1960)

 

Mrs. Adolph Mazourek entertained the Birthday Club last week Tuesday afternoon, with Mrs. Raymond Smith as assistant hostess.  Bunco was the entertainment, after which a lunch was served.

 

Mrs. Frank Short entertained the Cannonville Ladies Aid last Thursday with quite a large attendance.  Dinner was served at noon.  Mrs. Arnold Huth, Jr., will be hostess at the November meeting.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wall, T. M. Winters, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vincent, Jr. and family, were Sunday dinner and supper guests at the Jim Vincent, Sr. home, in honor of the 47th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wall.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Louie Matousek, Milwaukee, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Frank Short.  Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Short and sons were Sunday dinner guests of his mother, also.  Mrs. Frank Short accompanied the Matousek’s home Sunday afternoon and will visit them and her son, Roger Short for a week or two.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kissling and family were Sunday dinner guests at the Ernest Kissling home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dahnert, Cambridge, and Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and sons, Wayne and Lee, were dinner guests at the Herman Dahnert home last week Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rutherford of Black River Falls were guests Saturday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hubing spent Sunday evening at the Clarence Reinart home.

 

Mrs. Oliver Williams has been a patient at Memorial Hospital since Saturday.

 

Roger Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams, and Charles Plummer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Plummer, arrived home last week from Texas, where they entered the service but failed to pass some of their final tests.

 

Mrs. Arnold Huth, Sr., will entertain the Washburn Homemakers club November 9 at noon.  Mrs. Eugene Simmons and Mrs. Adolph Mazourek will present the project on "Use of accessories in the home."  A pink and blue shower in honor of Mrs. Mazourek also will be given.

 

A Sunday school rally was held at Cannonville Church Sunday with Sunday schools from Sherwood, Granton, Dells Dam, Oak Ridge and Cannonville participating. George Williams, Minneapolis, spoke at the afternoon service.
