Bashford, Nettie (26 APR 1867 - 6 JAN 1952)

 

The Rev. Lee H. Holmes conducted funeral services for Mrs. J. B. Bashford Tuesday afternoon at the Myre Funeral Home.  Mrs. Bashford, aged 84, passed away early last Sunday morning.

 

Burial was made in the Loyal Union Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Jesse Raab, Gary Kehrberg, Vernard Kauffman, Frank Oestreich, Harvey Gotter and Bill Rellis.  James Colby rendered two vocal selections, "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "In the Garden.:  He was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Byron Zepplin.

 

Mrs. Nettie Bashford was born April 26, 1867 at Columbus.  She was the youngest of seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Beaver.

 

On Jan. 19, 1887, she married James Byaly Bashford.  Two children survive, Hester, Mrs. R. W. Burdick, and Edna Bashford; also a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Bashford.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Sadie, and a son, Earl.  The family has lived in Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) and vicinity since 1902.

 

Mrs. Bashford was a member of Royal Neighbors and the American Legion Auxiliary.  For many years she served as secretary for F.R.A. and E.R. A. fraternal organizations, and she was village librarian.

 

Those from out of town attending included: Elsie Bashford, Milwaukee, Mrs. R.W. Burdick, Calif., Mrs. ? Bashford, Gary, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. ?, Columbus, Wis., Mrs. Wm. Klug, Neillsville, Mrs. Roxy Kr..?, Cottage Grove and Mrs. A. ?, Owen.
