Castner, Avis J. (27 DEC 1951)

Festive Yuletide decorations adorned the home of Mrs. Nettie Castner at 212 S. Cedar St., Marshfield for the occasion of her daughter’s wedding on Thursday afternoon.

Miss Avis Jeanette Castner, who became the bride of Gerald Jacobson, will be remembered by residents of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) from her girlhood days spent on the farm of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Castner.  She is a graduate of Loyal High School and is also a graduate of the Wausau Business College.

In 1929 she moved to Marshfield and held a position oat the Berg Implement Co. for more than twenty years.  For the past year and a half Mrs. Jacobson has been employed in the office of the Knott Insurance Agency.

Mr. Jacobson, son of Mrs. Lillian Jacobson, currently of Adams, Minn., lived with his parents for several years on the farm now known as the George Rowley farm.  He also graduated from Loyal High School.

The afternoon ceremony was performed by the Rev. Arthur R. Oates, D.D. and viewed only by near relatives.

Gowned in a white wool Challis frock, the bride wore at her should a corsage of pink roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Orville Wichman of Loyal, the bride’s brother-in-law and sister, attended the couple.  Mrs. Wichman was attired in a light aqua wool dress, complemented by a corsage arrangement of pink roses.  Mrs. Castner’s toast colored crepe dress was adorned with a corsage of bronze chrysanthemums.

After the ceremony the couple greeted friends and relatives at a 2 to 4 o’clock reception.  Centering the buffet table where luncheon was served, was a three tiered decorated bride’s cake.

The newlyweds will reside in Adams where the groom operates a farm.
