Neillsville, Wisconsin Locals (6 October 1960)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schmidt of Lodi, Calif., are here on a 10-day visit.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Bertz visited friends in Medford Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Art Briggs and children of Janesville visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wall last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Westphal returned Thursday to Norfolk, Nebr., following a two-week visit at the Claude Westphal and Henry Hubing homes.  Mr. Westphal is able to be about with the help of crutches following a railroad accident in which he was injured some months ago.

 

Mrs. James D. (Agnes) Cummings, who has been employed at the Veterans Hospital in Tomah for several years, has resigned her position and is now at her home on Grand Avenue.  Mrs. Cummings and son, Tom, visited friends in Alma Center Sunday and were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. James Cummings, Jr., and family of Tomah.

 

The Rev. Sam Robbins, former pastor of the Congregational Church of Neillsville, will be installed as pastor of the Congregational parish at Roberts and Hammond, at Roberts next Sunday evening.  He has served the pastorates of Community Church at Mazomanie and the Congregational churches of Adams-Friendship since leaving here.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacob and Charlene, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hubing, Mr. and Mrs. William Dekker and Tommy visited at the Frank Root and Warren Cater homes in Knowlton Sunday.

 

Supt. Donald E. Peters, Principal Ivan W. Lauscher and County Supt. Leonard Morley will attend a school administrators’ meeting in Loyal October 11.

 

Mrs. Selma Hovland visited friends in Merrillan last weekend. 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thompson of Merrillan and Mrs. Bessie Brendmo of Hatfield visited Mrs. Grace Giloy last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mueller, Milwaukee, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Foote, and her brother, Charles Foote and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Willard Gerhardt spent the weekend with their son, Glenn and his family, in Madison and with Mr. Gerhardt’s brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gerhardt.

 

Becky, Ralph and Bobbette Prindle of Humbird were Saturday overnight guest of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dahnert.

 

William Uhlman accompanied his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shaw, to Holcombe Sunday, where they saw the new cottage of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Mills of Owen.
