Heiman, Julia (25 February 1885 - 24 September 1960)

 

Mrs. Henry Heiman, 75, Rt. 3, Neillsville, died Saturday in St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn., of a heart attack following surgery.

 

A requiem high mass was read Tuesday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisemann officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Mr. Heiman, the former Julia Uhlenhake, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Uhlenhake. She was born February 25, 1885, in Festina, Ia., where she received her education.  On October 4, 1904, she was married to Henry Heiman. They lived on a farm near Austin, Ia., and moved to Clark County in 1919.  They farmed in the Town of Levis a few years before moving onto their farm in the Town of Weston. 

 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its St. Anthony’s Circle of the Christian Mother’s Society.

 

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Russell (Fredoline) Tangman, Waukesha; Edward Heiman, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Mike (Adelaide) Gruber, Warren, Ariz.; Mrs. M. C. (Eleanore) Piper, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. l. P. (Rita) Strachota, Elm Grove; Mrs. Mel (Virginia) Holl, Milwaukee; and Francis Heiman, Neillsville.  Twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive, as well as the following brothers and sisters: John Uhlenhake, and Mrs. Mary Wiltgen, of Ossian, Ia.; Clem Uhlenhake, Waterloo, Ia.; Mrs. Elizabeth Beckman, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Sophia Heiman, Warsaw, Ind.

 

The Christian Mother’s Society held a rosary service Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Bergemann Funeral Home, and a general Rosary service was said Monday evening at 8 p.m.

 

Pallbearers were: Arnold Hoppa, Andrew Turczyn and four grandsons: James Piper, Richard Schmidt, Jerry and Robert Strachota.

 

The Christian Mother’s Society attended the services in a group.
